Sabres next Captain

The question that a lot of sabres fans have like myself is, who will be the next captain? In my mind their are five possibilities for the job. First you have Teppo Numminnen who is a good player but i dont think he is vocal enough, second you have Brian Campbell who is a great player and a vocal player. Third their is Toni Lydman who like Teppo i dont think is vocal enogh for the job. Fourth is Derek Roy who just got a big pay day but i think is still to of a immature player (Dives) to be a captain. Last their is Tim Connolly who is a great player but i dont think he has played enough in the last two seasons to be the captain. I personnally beleive that Brian "Soupy" Campbell should be the 2007-2008 Buffalo Sabres captain.
arent Briere and Drury your co-captains?
um...briere and drury both left for Philly and the Rangers respectively
FlyersAreBackk knows this but he gets joy out of putting other teams down, he was being a jerk. The only way you can ever get into a logical convo with him is if you constantly say good about the Flyers. As soon as you offer any kind of criticism or any opinion about the Flyers, other than his own, he rips you a part and naturally says how bad your team is. Anyways, I believe either Mair or Numminen will be the Captain with Campbell and Hecht getting the A's.
Tim Connolly definatly deserves a shot at the "C" , as well and Gaustad or Campbell. I respect your opinion DZ , but why make Numminen our captain only for him to retire at the end of the season? I also have a feeling we'll return to the "rotating captaincy" , which in my opinion is the most stupid way to decide a captain!
I never said Buffalo was bad once. I said I feel they are going to struggle. Simple as that. I do WAY more defending of the Flyers than I do talking about other teams. I dont talk about teams I dont know anything about. I know a decent amount about Buffalo but not enough to say they suck, thats why I never have and haven't torn them apart. The only thing I have stressed that Buffalo fans dont agree with and you take it as me ripping on your team is that you guys will miss Drury and Briere ALOT. Thats all I have said and will struggle from it. Never once said your team isnt good. And haven't said anything negative about other teams.
At this point I feel the Sabres should rotate the "C". Let the true leader of the team emerge in his own right. Numminen will be gone in a year and Campbell and Lydman will be up for contracts within the next year or two. All Sabres fans are familiar with the curse of the "C" in Buffalo. In light of Darcy's inability to improve his team this off season, there will be a tremendous amount of pressure on everyone, especially out of the gate. Why add pressure to a player and force the inevitable comparisons to Drury and Briere. If someone is to squirm it should be Regeir.
