During practice today, the Sharks were without the services of Tomas Plihal, Torrey Mitchell, Brad Norton, and Craig Rivet (though he did come out for the speed skating drills in the second half of practice).

Per the Sharks, Mitchell had to have some fluid drained from the foot he blocked a shot with, and might return to the ice on Friday. If he can skate Friday and still feels good Saturday night, the Sharks coaches will give him one more chance to impress.

Plihal's shoulder injury sounds more serious. We'll know more Friday afternoon after his doctor visit.

Ron Wilson put his top forwards back together again for practice today, lining up Patrick Marleau on the LW with Joe Thornton at center and Jonathan Cheechoo on the right.

Milan Michalek and Devin Setoguchi were flying on Jeremy Roenick's flanks.

Here's the full lineup:
Marleau - Thornton - Cheechoo
Michalek - Roenick - Setoguchi
Clowe - Pavelski - Bernier
Rissmiller - Brown - Grier
Kaspar - Goc - Mink

On D:
McLaren - Ehrhoff
Vlasic - Murray
Carle - Ozolinsh
Davison - Semenov
+Rivet for a small chunk.

Tomorrow's practice should give us an idea of whom will be skating in the final preseason game on Saturday evening as well as what the lines will look like, though we already know that Nabokov will definitely get the start.
