It was a rough finish to the rangers seaosn. They blow a 1-0 lead with 7 seconds to go in game 5. Then they lose 5-4 on home ice in game 6. Although there are a lot of "What ifs..." in this series, Rangers should be happy with what they accomplished. They didn't look like they were even in the playoff mix in February.

Bring in some young guns, add a fiesty Sean Avery, and of course,a rock solid Henrik Lundqvist. With the young stars on the blueline the Rangers have coming up the next couple of years, this could be a very scary team in the Eastern Conference.

Some questions still need to be answered htough, Can the Rangers sign Michael Nylander to a contract extension? Will Shanhan come back? Also, who is going to play the 2nd line center?

Yea Avery was decent there, but he I don't consider him to be much of a scoring threat and is not the greatest finisher. As the year went on I became more impressed with Matt Cullen though. He failed as a 2nd line centerman for half the year but when put on a line that involved speed he started contributing. He has finesse, speed, and a hard shot. He needs to work on a few things and people say "he is no better than a 3rd line centerman", but I disagree. Rangers signed him to a hefty contract cause they believe he can play on the 2nd line, and I hope he gets another chance on the 2nd line next season.

Anyways congratulations to the Rangers, and their supporting fans. This was a step in the right direction this season.
