"Leafs Nation"

Im just 25 years old but ill forever be a leafs fan, but its days like today that make it so hard to like majority of the other leafs fans.

I myself think todays trade was a great deal with hopes for the future in the draft picks and Joe, of course its always hard to see an old leafs soldier move on but I will always wish the best for kaberle he was a very proud leaf.

The reason for me being dissapointed in the majority of leafs nation was the call ins from leafs fans on a local toronto am sports station, whom already have given up hope on a playoff push and the prospect in which we acquired.

Sure with Tomas gone it hurts our already marginal chance of making the playoffs this is true but come on leafs nation 6 points out with what 23 games left and we give up so easily? If people said wed be this close and playing some great hockey at this time you would be singing a different tune. I myself think its going to be hard especially with our schedule that is upcoming in march & april but as a true fan its not hard to dream and hope of a miraculous run to an 8th or 7th spot.
Im just hoping that in these upcoming games we can get the fans to participate in them like it was the playoffs show our leafs that we are proud of the work they've done recently.

Secondly the callers also called in saying this deal was Kaberle for a "bag of pucks" this is so frustrating to hear from fans, and this is why no free agent wants to come to Toronto, a kid (yes a kid hes only 21) has already been given up on without even playing a game.
Im not by all means saying this kid turns out to be a Clark, Gilmour, or Sundin but maybe he does.
Leafs nation gives these prospects and players a chance before yelling screw job by boston again.

Lastly Thankyou Tomas for the dedication and pride you showed as a Leaf you truly showed a ton of heart, so personally as a "true" fan thankyou so much for your service and best of luck in Boston.
