I can't tell you how many times that came out of my mouth last night...

...rewind to last round...Brooks Laich hits the puck into the net with a high stick (it was extremely apparent that his stick was aboe the crossbar). I suppose there was some doubt in the call...it was reviewed for quite a bit and then they gave the goal to Laich which was completely baffling...anyway...the Flyers sucked it up and won 6-3...

...Fast forward to last night...Kovalev's stick was CLEARLY above the crossbar...I mean made contact with the crossbar...right up against the crossbar...YOu don't get much more blatant than that. I was just completely baffled. If that was a goal then what's the point of having the high stick rule. The fact is taht the puck probably would have gone in anyway...but once you hit it with a high stick play is dead. I mean if you look at the shot of Kovalev on the bench after they said it was a goal he looks surprised....even HE knew it wasn't a goal...

Honestly...if he had hit the puck at the height at center ice it would have been whistled down right away...lucky break for the Habs...no biggie right?

...that goal was a big issue in the end...

...as for the call on Richards I would like to know why the refs who were close to the incident didn't explain to the guy with the bad angle that it was a clean hit...

...anyhow...I'm glad that the guys didn't seem that upset about it...In fact, I think to some extent this game was kindof a relief to them. They outplayed the Habs, they didn't have trouble scoring on Price. They know that the Habs had the game handed to them and they're ready for the split on the road. They all played well...a full four line effort. Biron looked great.

...i gotta say my favorite part of the game was the blocked penalty shot...talk about taking a crowd right out of a game...you could have heard a pin drop in there...

...Elsewhere...great game with Detroit and Colorado. Very entertaining and Kudos to the Avs for fighting back so hard. It was very close in the end there with all those shots off the post. I think this is another series that's going to be closer than Detroit counted on. I"m not sure how I felt about them pulling Theodore so early...he's your guy...you play him...that's how it goes.

...I'm excited about tonight's game. It should be facinating to see how the Rangers defend against the Pens. I'm wondering what kind of antics Sean Avery will pull. Sharks/Stars looks like an unbelievable matchup...I'm very excited.

...Better luck (and calls) next game, Flyers...
