"Iginla to Edmonton"
As of today there are still a few good free agents out there that teams should be looking at. I am not sure what the players are asking for but if they have been on the market this long then I am guessing their price has gone down. My five picks are below.rrnrn1. Devon Setguchi (RW)rnThis guy can skate, hit, score and play on a 2nd or 3rd line. He was magic one year in San Jose and was ruined when he was traded to Minnesota. I am still of the opinion that he can still get it back and be a steal for any team that is looking for a top 6 forward. Teams like Ottawa, Calgary, Florida, Carolina and Phoenix should be calling. Just not sure why they aren't.rnrn2. Steve Ott (C)rnAt one point Dallas refused to trade this guy because of how hard he played and what he meant to the team. They finally let him go to Buffalo who also loved the way he played before trading him off to St Louis. Things didn't go well for Ott with the Blues so why haven't Buffalo and Dallas come knocking? Ott is a tough, smooth skating 3rd line leader who will drive the other team crazy and ruffle some feathers. Most teams are looking for guys like this (Montreal are you listening) but they don't want to pay the price that Ott may be demanding. A good fit for him would be in Montreal, Winnipeg, Buffalo or Boston.rnrn3. Michael Del Zotto (D)rnHe is only 24 years old and has NHL experience as a puck moving defenseman. He needs to be better in his own zone but he would be a great 4 or 5 Dman in the right city. How this guy is still available is beyond me, but someone is going to get a young Dman at a good price. New York Islanders, Columbus, Philly, and Detroit.rnrnrnrn4. Jamie McBain (D)rnAt 26 McBain is still relatively young. He was supposed to be a stud defenseman in Carolina but was moved to Buffalo. He has offensive potential but needs to go to a good team where he can play PowerPlay and 12 minutes a game. On the right team I think he could have a bounce back season and really shine. Teams interested should be New Jersey, Philadelphia, Dallas, and San Jose.rnrnrnrn5. Tomas Vokoun (G)rnAny team that has a young goalie that might be ready to take the reigns should be looking at moving their starter and signing a veteran backup. Martin Brodeur, Ilya Bryzgalov and Tim Thomas are all available but for me, Tomas Vokoun is the most stable of the bunch. Blood clots are the only issue that stand in his way but I would feel comfortable signing him and having him backup a new goalie. Teams like Ottawa and Toronto should be looking at this. Vokoun is a perfect backup who can step in as a starter if need be. He probably isn't looking for a ton either. Teams that should be interested are Ottawa, Toronto, Chicago, Colorado, and St. Louis.rnrnPlayers that might be worth a 1 year, 1 Million dollar deal would be Dany Heatley, Ville Leino and Mike Ribeiro. They all have proven at one point that they could put up points in the NHL but the risk can't out weigh the reward.rn
