I really think the only thing I can contribute to a blog site such as this is some insight into the world of NHL bettors.

Throughout the week, I'll post a quick blog if I see some nice Sportsbook lines or opportunities for a Pro-Line parlay.

Please, feel free to leave your picks in the comments section and I'd love to know people's thoughts on the games I've chosen.

I'm going to start with the same bankroll as I have in my online Sportsbook, $1000, and bet from there. Money management is obviously key in online sports betting and that's why we won't go too much over 2% of bankroll (to win) per game.

----

Calgary vs. Edmonton: This is my game of the night. Calgary handled Edmonton quite easily in the pre-season and although the standings don't matter, what actually happened in the game, does. Even without several key players the Flames are a stronger team than the Oilers and it will take more than a raucous home crowd to lead the Oil past the Flames.

2% Calgary -110 (risk 22 to win 20)

Carolina vs. Minnesota: Bottom line... it's early. I'm going to look for value and I think we have it here with the 'Canes on a neutral site. I like what the Wild did in the off-season... but I'm going with value here.

1% Carolina Even (risk 10 to win 10)

Chicago vs. Colorado: In Colorado; even despite the Hawks fire-sale, they still field a dangerous team. Expect Colorado to do what made them successful last season and lock down the neutral zone and attempt to win 2-1.

1% Chi/Col u5.5 Even (risk 10 to win 10)

For any Pro Line users... the Leafs seem to have some value against the Habs tonight, or for the more brazen of the bunch, they could have some shootout value as well!

Hope everyone enjoys the first day of the Regular Season and I look forward to reading the blogs to come...
