Some Random Thoughts:

-Leo Komarov will be back in a Toronto Maple Leafs uniform next season. He is giving the Leafs something to think about, but look for a 3-year deal between 4-4.5 million over the time frame.

-Dallas Eakins won't be back with the Toronto Marlies next year which will be a huge hit for the Maple Leafs. I personally felt he deserved the Leafs coaching job when Ron Wilson was fired. Eakins has been astonishing with the Marlies and is the best coach not in the NHL, if the Oilers were smart they'd pick him up.

-I was surprised to hear all the talk about Dion Phaneuf being moved, I thought I was the only one that was pushing for this. It is not that Phaneuf isn't valuable because he is. But I'd use him like Bryan McCabe was, a big powerplay short, with 2-3 man icetime. The problem is-is that Phaneuf is obviously not the captain of the team, Lupul is. Its hard to take the "C" away from him and keep him around.

-While speaking of it, Lupul captain, McClement and Kessel assistants sounds good for next year.

-Lock Kessel up to a 7 year deal at 6.5-7.5 this offseason please. His overall game has put him in top 10 forwards in the league.

-Is it just me or is Nikolai Kulemin's talents the most underrated on the team. That guy knocks whoever he wants off the puck and plays smart defensively, I think he's worse 3+.

-Matt Frattin made me love him even more, some hard drives to the net and big hits, loved seeing him knock Chara's helmet off.

Keep Komorov. Agree with Lupul should be captain but Phanuefs value to this team is very underrated. Hopefully he and a healthy gunnar can form a solid shutdown pair, while gards and franson are the second pairing. Mclement assistant, kessel not. Too passive. Lock up kessel at hopefully six and a half per. Kuli is very underrated. Ideal thirrd liner that can spot in on second line when needed. Frattins a beaut
