The Blues yesterday afternoon announced the signing of defenseman Kent Huskins to a one-year, $1 Million contract.

Huskins, 32, played in 50 games last season with the San Jose Sharks, registering two goals and eight assists and had a +8 rating.

Huskins gives the Blues another left-handed shot on defense that they've been rumored to be looking for.

Other rumblings:

While nothing is on the verge of happening at this time, the Blues remain interested in winger Jamie Langenbrunner. The Blues and the 35-year old veteran have kept in contact, and it's a good possibility that a deal could be reached soon.

The Blues could use a veteran leader like Langenbrunner, and at this point in his career, Langenbrunner wouldn't command much money which would help the team since they're almost maxed out on money to spend.

More to come,

Huskins was not one of the Dmen I really liked to watch. I can't say he was bad and probably would fit well in a team that plays more defensive strategies but never really remember him getting the puck out and making things happen.
