The St. Louis Blues announced today that they have signed center Andy McDonald to a four-year contract extension.
McDonald has played in 16 games this season with the Blues, tallying six goals and 12 assists. He has been sidelined since November 16th, when he broke his ankle in a game against Montreal. McDonald was set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season, and there was speculation that he could have been traded before the trade deadline if a deal couldn't be worked out.
In 65 games wearing the Bluenote, McDonald has 20 goals and 34 assists.
McDonald has been working out on the ice at practice recently and is expected to be back in the lineup Tuesday night against Vancouver.
