Secondary scoring has been the staple amid the Flyers recent two game winning streak. That mixed in with two putrid opponents have allowed this lackluster Flyers team to outscore their opposition by the count of 9-2 to start their 4 game homestand. This may be just what the doctor ordered for a team that has had tremendous trouble scoring of late. Outside of Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek mixed in with a couple Wayne Simmonds hot streaks, the offense has been non-existent this season. The Flyers have taken advantage of their last two opponents and it may be exactly what they need to get the rest of the lines going and playing with confidence. Scott Laughton perhaps may be the biggest benefactor. He's been creating chances since the moment he's stepped on the ice for the Flyers this season and could easily have points in every game he's played. Now that he has the weight of his first NHL goal off his chest the Flyers might finally have that one-two punch down the middle that Hextall was preaching about over the summer. We only wish that Berube will continue to plug the 2012 first round pick onto the struggling second power play unit that makes you want to change the channel every time you see Giroux, Voracek, and the rest of the first unit skate off the ice. There's no doubt the Flyers have a huge measuring stick game tonight versus Tampa. A team that has given the Flyers fits the last several seasons with their speed and puck control, two things the Flyers clearly lack. We will find out tonight if their recent 2 game streak is merely them dominating a few of the worst teams in the league or a sign that they are righting the ship. Either way, lets go Flyers.
