I agree with Hull and Cherry

Posted Tuesday | Comments 0
I have to say that I did like the segment after the 2nd period during game 4 last night with Don Cherry visiting the NBC booth. As far as the opinion of both Cherry and Brett Hull I have to agree that the majority would like to see fighting as part of the NHL and I do agree that ratings wouldn't suffer, but would be better if it was more common to see a little sparring...
Yet another inspiring and hard-fought Red Wings victory in the playoffs. Are the professional pundits finally going to learn that the Wings ARE "physical enough" to get through this? Is anyone going to admit that the "Red Wings are too old" isn't going to fly anymore when the difference in average age between Detroit and Dallas is less than a year? No matter, rega...
The NHL web site has posted the transcript of Gary Bettman's remarks before the Wings/Stars game on 05/15/08. In them we learn that at least one reporter had the ability to ask "a fascinating question" to which no clear answer was ever given, when queried if it is good for the league to have a dominating team like Detroit. One wonders wh...
The Anaheim Ducks have a new AHL affiliate, and what better way to bring buzz to the team with a good, ole fashion, publicity stunt. Well the Iowa Chops have gone above and beyond any publicity stunt seen before... It may seem like I'm going way off topic here, but hold on: The entire sports world is hanging onto every piece of news in the Brett ...
The hockey world is pretty much at a stand still right now so I decided to take a page out of Eric Engels' book and pose 5 questions for the Preds this upcoming season, all of which you are more than welcome to answer. 1. Will the Predators add a top 6 forward between now and the 2010 trade deadline? 2. How long do either David Poile or Barry Trotz last, in months (f...
In front of a packed house at the Scottrade Center on Brett Hull night, the Blues pulled out a rare home victory on a beautiful late goal by T.J. Oshie. It was a great play set up by the forecheck of David Backes, allowing Paul Kariya to take the puck and feed Oshie with a beautiful pass that Oshie roofed. Another rarity, the Blues scored a power-play goal. That unit st...
I’m baaaaaaaack!!!! After spending a week talking about whether Man U could really win the premiership this year or whether the England victory over Australia will really shake the foundation of the rugby world, I am back in North America to talk about the sport we all know and love: ice hockey (or at least that’s what everyone kept calling it over in jolly old Engl...
TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported that the Lightning may be interested in loaning Brett Connolly to Canada’s World Junior Championship squad this coming December. If you’re team Canada, why wouldn’t you want Connolly? He has all the intangibles necessary to be a great WJC player. For example, let’s take a look at some of the great WJC leaders for Canada in the past ...
Hello, minimal number of readers! Long time no blog! Well. as you all know, the trade deadline is coming up in a matter of weeks and with the volume of opinionated posts I've been pasting all across the forums (the Oilers' forum in particular) this past while, I thought I may as well write a blog about it! And to all your dismay, here it is! The aforementioned trade...
