For whatever reason Friday nights from my work to the Wachovia Complex doesn't take as long so I had an easy time getting down and in. There was just a ton of people at this game last night. I basically had to park closer to the Wachovia Center then the spectrum.

Today the Flyers made some minor moves that puzzled many. They traded recently acquired defenseman Janne Niskala to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a 6th Round Pick in 2009. I was confident Niskala would be a good #5/#6 for the Flyers as soon as next year, hopefully he does well in Tampa Bay. Stefan Ruzicka has decided to go back to Europe to play. The Flyers will still retain his rights since the transfer agreement is not in effect. WIth this loss the Phantoms will likely need another forward, I wouldn't be surprised if the Flyers signed one of their prospects in the coming days. Ruzicka is a great AHL player, but never seemed to be able to achieve in the NHL....

Sami it was very nice to make your acquaintance today.
On the Phantoms side they did some type of testing today. It looked like the type of things I have seen them do as part of Physicals. The players that were on this side going through things were mostly Phantoms players.

First thing I notice here is none of the D are in black like for the Flyers. D men are wearing Red and Green. Forwards wore either White or Orange.
Most of the practices earlier in the week were run by Kjell and Neil. today's was run directly by Paddock.
They did pretty standard drills. the one that caught my attention the most had...
It was a double does of hockey in Philly yesterday. Both Philly teams won.

It was Parent, Powe, Nodl Carle and I am not sure whom else as I stayed with the Phantoms when someone told me that it was not the full Flyers team on the ice.

Neither the Flyers nor the Phantoms had much success this weekend. Both teams lost Friday and Saturday. Saturday looked like both games might end by the same score but The Admirals seemed to turn and burn and the Phantoms ended up loosing 7-2.
I have faith that both teams will turn things around. Both teams have injuries to key players and the flu making rounds.

I took the drive this weekend to see the Phantoms new home. It is a classic old AHL barn. It was not a bad place to see a game. Saturday night's game sold out and had a ton of people doing the standing room only thing.

Bridgeport CT is closer then Glens Falls NY. I will be doing closer games vs going to Glens Falls this season.
