It was an honor and a privilege to be selected as an inaugural member of the NYI Blog Box over a year ago. It was an absolute thrill to be asked to pen the debut feature on Ruslan Fedotenko's signing with the Islanders. The Islanders might finally be doing it right.
In adding defenseman Mark Streit to nurture an ailing power play on a 5-year deal for the [i][b]right[/b][/i] price, Garth Snow did his job well. This addresses a need and doesn't take away from any deserving youngster looking for ice time.

Barring some unexpected, significant Isles news between now and then, I don't plan on doing any Isles blogging until some time in between the entry draft and free agency. I had a blast this year - with the Blog Box and all - but between that, a rough season all around and my Lightning responsibilities here at Hockeybuzz, it was taxing ... and I need a break.
