The growing pains continue here in Edmonton, I do not think many people are complaining because this should be expected with a team that has lots of youth and another number one pick on the way. The Oilers just wrapped up a five game road trip yesterday afternoon in Pittsburgh, within those five games they walked away with one point. Disappointed, not one bit because I think most of us know with time and a few struggling seasons this team will soon be a Stanley Cup contender, you look at the one-two punch in Omark and Paarjarvi and the chemistry they have now? Well just wait Oiler fans they will only get better. Now on the other hand you look at some key injuries on the roster like Taylor Hall, Ryan Whitney, and Sam Gagner all done for the season, then the Oilers dealt Dustin Penner to LA, now i do not know about you guys but i see a trend here known as the curse of 42 points, they all had 42 or were on pace for before they got hurt or in Penner's case traded. I am fine with all these injuries because i know we are not making the playoffs this year, so rest up and they will be better next season, i am also excited to add another top draft pick to an already talented lineup.
Who will the Oilers pick in the draft?
Brad
So like, how long are you hoping for last place? You dont mind but the poor saps paying big bucks to go to games probably mind. Rebuild doesnt mean lose for a decade.
Thanks for great post Kevin R!!!!!! When is the last time the flames won?
Kevin im not saying a decade! at least we have young talent in our system who do the Flames have?? How do you spell dynasty in Calgary? One! at least we have more cups! Brad P.S. thx for the post though
You guys sound like leaf fans living in the past. At least we are playing meaningful games. Your missing my point, whatever, Katz is making money.
Kevin R last season was the first one we "tanked". Do you seriously think 2 first overall picks are bad? Do you seriously think that 2 years will turn into 10? Washington/Pittsburgh, etc. all sucked for YEARS and drafted high before they became great teams. It's the route we need to take too because FA's don't like it here.
Ahh I was hoping that I found an alternate blog to Richard's, but only found this one paragraph!! Anyways, it's more than i'm willing to write so keep it up whizkid and i'll keep checkin for new material.
