Well, after a week in the its safe to say that Patrick Roy is the right man for this Avalanche team. After 3 games the Avs have set a franchise record in starting 3-0-0 since the move to Denver, Colorado. Something that past great Avs teams have never done. The team is working really hard and it seems that Coach Roy has them bought in to the aggresive game, everyone is laying the body even Stastny. The Penalty Kill is excellent as they are 100% after 3 games, the only thing they need alot of work still is puck control and puck cycling in the offensive zone during the Powerplay. If they can get that going they will be even more dangerous as a team.
Patrick Roy has been a breath of fresh air so far this season he pushes them in practice and the players actually like it and his intensity. I also noticed that he goes to every player during the game and gives them a pat on the shoulder after a great shift. Something I don't even think I noticed during the Sacco Era. Also, what can I say about Varly, he has been stellar with a 3-0-0, 1.00 G.A.A and a .967 save%, wich I think has been in large part because of the teaching done by goalie coach François Allaire and the goaltending knowledge of Patrick Roy.
The Mcginn-Mackinnon-Parenteau line is excellent so far this season creating alot of the offense. Once the other lines can start clicking on a consistant basis it will be even better. So it remains to be seen if they can keep things up against the Bruins and Capitals duting this eastern road trip.
Well said KevinDaigle
