With Matt Duchene now locked up for another five years after this season, I think this could be the beginning of the end for O'reilly in Colorado. People cant forget how distracting the situation was last year with the contract talks, it affected the team in a negative way since they had to answer all those questions. One that I taught, that was affected by it, was Duchene, once O'reilly returned. So, now with Duchene locked up as the heart and soul of this Avs team the best thing for them to do is to trade Oreilly. There is no way the Avs should sign O'reilly for more than Duchene and with the Avs having a bunch of centers he would be very expendible and they could trade him for a early 30's defenseman with experience who is solid in his own end. With Stastny decline in the past few years, if he is willing to accept a lesser salary also could benefit the team for a few years, with Landeskog on his contract year this upcoming season. It remains to be seen what the Avs will do but this would be their best option without messing up with their core players. All I know is it will be more exciting with St.Patrick and Super Joe running the show.

fair deal for both sides. Duchene should be getting some considerations for Sochi.

I would still love to see Stastny return since he had a strong WHC and plus he will have better wingers and if he wants to stay with the avs he will have to take less than Duchene. wich if he does could make oreilly very expendable.
