Offer sheets Combinations to Consider

Now before people go off half cocked just remember all of these teams had a chance to negotiate contracts with these players for fair market value before the day after the NHL draft or file for arbitration.
As soon as an offersheet is put down as an NHL GM i would look at the other RFA's on the team and find the one I like and put an offer sheet down.
So here is how it works. Edmonton gets Dougie Hamilton to sign to a 5 year 37.5 m offer sheet.
So me being a brilliant yet maniacal GM signs Brett Connolly a 4 yr 13 M offer sheet and Ryan Spooner to a 3 year 5.4 Million Offer sheet since I think both are immediately plugged in upgrades to my lineup.
There is a 75% chance I get one of my players and 50/50 chance I get both that and I just put Boston in even worse cap hell taking them out of contending for a year or 2 more.

I mean, yeah technically that is within the rules as far as I know. But, no GM would want to do you any favors and you could forget about ever trading with whichever team you offer sheeted for the foreseeable future. Plus, what happens when a team decides not to match all three players? Your team would lose an insane amount of draft picks and possibly be in cap hell(or close to it) yourself.
Technically it is 2 players because you are reacting to another teams offer. Ottawa did the right thing in locking up Stone and Zibinejad. As long as cap numbers are tight around the league this will become the new normal. In regards to the GM reactions my point is to sign these young guys to fairer deals instead of relying on hopes and dreams that nobody will put an offersheet down.
Dont really know the rules, but i think the compensation must be availible for each offersheet which is impossible because you have to give up your own draftpicks in the upcoming draft.
@cloud - yup. You can only commit a draft pick to one offer sheet at a time.
You are correct gents but The Oilers need a 1st, a second and a third and team B needs a second and a third for this to happen.
