I'm not in a happy place right now.

If you're expecting something hockey related, read no further. It's not April yet.
As I'm sure many of you know, Madden 2008's release date is August 14th. As usual, I pre-ordered my copy at the closest Best Buy on Old Country Road and waited anxiously for the midnight release. Last year I was 7th in line, arriving at the Best Buy around 10:00 PM. By midnight the line wrapped around the whole building.
This year I decided to leave a bit later, arriving at 10:30. I was 9th in line. Close to 11:00, an employee closes the lights, walks out, and locks the door. As he's walking to his car someone on line behind me asks him what's going on. He tells me and the other 15 or so people in line that they weren't doing the midnight release this year.
Immediately I got into my car and drove 20+ miles to Route 110 to the Best Buy next to the Walt Whitman Mall. No lights, no one in the parking lot. My heart was broken.
Okay, maybe saying my heart was broken is an overstatement, but most of the American population ages 13-28 can understand my pain. Sure, waiting until 10:00 AM which is in about 9 hours is no big deal... but it's a huge disappointment after getting Madden at midnight every year since the 2003 version.
Oh well, pretty soon I'll be in a happy place with my X-Box 360 Controller in hand. I also have a pair of Daily Show tickets tomorrow which is sweet.
