Blackhawks burn Red Wings in 3-2 Win

As a Chicago Blackhawk fan, I can tell you the excitement and anticipation I've experienced all day long, but I don't want to ramble on and on and on. Not only was Detroit on the schedule for today, Chicago fans experienced a change up if you will.
Rocky Wirtz announced that 7 Blackhawks games would be broadcasted through CSN. The first of course, was televised today with the Hawks hosting the Red Wings at the United Center.
A crowd of 19,000 plus showed up to the U.C. Sunday and witnessed the best performance the Blackhawks have shown all year long. Three straight wins over Detroit this year, has fans and non-fans talking about the Hawks and their accomplishments thus far into the season.
Yanic Perreault opened the scoring sheet at 12:28 of the first period. Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews both scored power play goals that lead to the Hawks victory, ending Detroit's 9 game winning streak. Chris Osgood of the Red Wings, lost for the first time this season (8-1-0). Even though the Wings out-shot the Hawks 32-27, Chicago converted their specialty team opportunities. The Blackhawks went 2-6 on the PP and killed all six Red Wing power plays. Jiri Hudler and Niklas Lidstrom scored for Detroit, but Nikolai Khabibulin made several key saves ensuring the Hawks record be improved to 10-7-0.
The game was exciting as they come in the NHL, but the focus of the night for the fans was something a little more emotional. Something that we haven't felt in at least a decade. A little something we call pride.
