After reaching the half-way point of the 2007-08 NHL season, is the most troubled franchise in the league set for a recovery? Is a big trade/move possible to salvage an almost expected outcome to this season?
Let's look at it this way the Edmonton Oilers have one of the best tandem goaltending units in the NHL along with a decent defensive core. Their forward lines when healthy have some potential depth to it. So what will it take to get this team back on track and contend for the cup again?
My prediciton is that 3 things will happen this year:
1. The sale to the team to one of the biggest Oil fans will take place by spring, and when it does watch out good things will happen.
2. Kevin Lowe will make a big move before the trade deadline and will also pick up a big name come free agent season.
3. The Oil sneak into an 8th place play-off spot to round out the season - no cup.
thoughts?
