Why the Leafs shouldn't tank it

My argument is simple... this team, for whatever reason, blows. However, should they be able to play .500 hockey the rest of the way and not noticeably improve through dumping or draft it would set them up to be worse next year thereby increasing their chances at Jonathan Tavares hugely. That's it... just the silver lining should they somehow mount a last-ditch run at the 8th seed...
