Any Hope?

In our frustration over the Sabres not making the playoffs just remember the 70's NYI's. They were the same team as the Sabres are now. Tons of talent and scoring but couldn't get over the 'hump'. Going to the semifinals a few times and losing for in the playoffs for multiple years. Al Arbour was considered in the same vain as Lindy is now that he couldn't win the big one. They had a core like the Sabres have now, they just need that 'Butch Goring' trade to push them over the top. Whether the front office can have the guts to do it is another story, we all think they did with Drury but dropped the ball in the end. Another factor is time because Tommy G may pull the plug and give up to Crackberry. This isn't 1975 and free agency does play a role in either ruining or making a team but there needs to be hope.
But as Red said in Shawshank Redemption, 'Let me tell you something my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.'
