Isn't it obvious that Mats Sundin is playing TML? And who can blame him!? Think about it, If you were Mats right now, after being asked to waive your ntc after stating you don't want to be a rental player, wouldn't you be a little pissed off? I mean sure Fletcher was doing his job but for god sake, he already had said no, Mats had been loyal to the Leafs, they should show him some loyalty too, but they haven't, so now the Leafs are suffering because Mats is taking his time with his decision on whether or not to play or not, probably to give the Leafs a taste of their own medicine, and I don't blame him, even being a Leafs fan. Mark my words, Mats won't re-sign with Toronto, but he'll continue making the Leafs think he might, the Leafs are gonna get hit with a ball of their own poop, all because the management is stupid and money hungry, email me with any questions!

As far as the Leafs go-- i dont think it matters what Sundin does at this point. If he thinks he's harming the Leafs by staling on his decision he'd probably be wrong. The Leafs have bigger problems than whether Sundin comes back or not (i.e.: McCabe and Kubina). As a Leafs fan i personally have no reservations against Sundin returning to the Blue and White, but i also have no problem with him going else where. If he returns, we'll have interesting year, if he doesn't... we'll still have an interesting year. Fletch i think is only keeping the door open so as not to miss out on the opportunity. He's more concerned with getting the team ready for camp.Oh and for the record, my oppinion is that Sundin is stalling because he's already picked the team he's going to... and that team needs to clear cap space in order to take him. I'm thinking NYR or another team we haven't heard about yet.
Thats another possibility, your right, Mats probably knows where hes going already, and thats my whole point, if he knows where he's going he should atleast let the other teams know, and I think he may have, but its not getting around to the leafs, probably cuz its time for payback.
I'm with ndk on all points, I think you're completely off-base Jack. I think Sundin will be a Ranger come September and has no agenda to try and get back at the leafs. The only teams being hurt by his indecision are the Canucks and the Habs who will no doubt go after Parrish or Murray once Sundin signs elsewhere.
