Tonight in Ottawa, there is more than just another playoff hockey game that is about to take place. There is a chance for a new generation of Pittsburgh Penguins fans to shine, and for a past generation to celebrate what was once great, and what could be great again in the near future.
With players like Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Whitney, and Fluery leading the charge, this team is poised for great things in the future. It is very reminiscent of the early 90's teams that won the cup back to back. Great superstars, to go along with great roleplayers like Erik Christensen, Max Talbot, and Jarko Rutuu. The veteran presence is there as well, starting with Mark Recchi and Gary Roberts, along with veteran blueliner Sergei Gonchar anchoring the NHLs 4th best power play this season.
I am not exactly sure how far this team can go this year, but I do think they are starting to and are well on thier way to putting the NHL on notice that this team is on its way to what could be a dynasty.
Where better to start then Ottawa tonight?
I can't wait. This is going to be such a treat after so many lean years.
I am right there with you man.
