For the first few games of the Sabres-Bruins series (besides on NESN, man those guys can't say anything positive about other teams) things were relatively quiet when it came to coaches, players, and commentators taking shots back and forth at each other over scrums and other things that hockey players tend to be involved in. Then, game 4 happened. Yes, officiating was horrible. I, myself, was livid over it. The media poopstorm that took place after was even more maddening.
In his post-game presser, Lindy tried to explain that there were a few calls he disagreed with, after he already strongly voiced his opinion on the ice. Out come the dogs. In the wake of Ruff's fine, Julien and others in Boston labeled Ruff a whiner who apparently cries when things don't go his way.
Now, after game 5, and that extremely entertaining scrum at the end of it, Julien returns with his comments because he was shocked Ruff would incite the instigator penalty. Why wouldn't he? Boston fans, answer this. If Ryan Miller had thrown that first punch, do you think, for one second, that Claude Julien wouldn't have tried the exact same thing?
The exaggeration makes the crybaby media tactics even worse. Julien and other Boston media outlets have called Gaustad's small soft tap on Chara a "two handed slash" or "chop". Now these guys are just fooling themselves. I certainly don't think what Gaustad did was necessary, but I don't condemn him for it, just like I don't condemn Chara for what he did. Did either accomplish anything? Only tonight's game will tell.
Basically, the point is the whining is taking away from what has been a fantastic series so far. Any one of these game, minus the previous game, could have gone to either team, and that's the way it should be in the playoffs whether your team comes out on top or not.
Well said..... GAME ON
Yeah, those faggot Boston fans can go fuck themselves!
