With the dismal season the Oilers had last season, you can't help but wonder how the youngsters such as Hall, Eberle, Paajarvi-Svensson & Omark are going to do.
Hall is one of the most hyped first overall picks of the new millenium. That's a lot of pressure to put on the kid's shoulders. His years in Windsor made him more of a hot commodity than the new iPhone 4 that was released today. Oilers fans will be camping outside of Rexall Place to get a sneek peak of what this rookie has to offer.
Does this mean a Cup in the next few seasons?
Definately not in my eyes, they will make the playoffs in the next three years but not a Cup Finals team for a few years to come. Edmonton's problem is convincing a young superstar to come play for the Oilers in 40 below winters when they can sign in California and be on the beach on the days off staring at all the women walking by. Do you blame NHL players to want to go south? Not really... Young single stars want to be where the glamour & women are, not in snowboots waiting for the Cadillac to warm up. If Tambellini & Lowe can start luring players into coming to play with Hall & Eberle they might have a chance at success.
Is the Souray Pill hard to swallow?
Oilers fans got just what they wanted, Souray to eat his words... No one picked him up off waivers so he is forced to swallow his pride & sport the Copper & Blue this season. I think his value will go up along with his play this year.. The deadline might be the ticket for his departure...
