Tonight is the big game. Re-match from the World Junior Gold Medal game last year in Buffalo. As a Canadian, I was really cheering the Czech's on last tonight against Russia. In such a tight game, Grigori Zheldakov scored the game-winner for Russia following a power-play from the Czech's. Daniel Krejci was hit on the follow through of a Russian players stick, and stayed down on the ice while there was no call to be made. Next, Zheldakov wired one by Petr Mrazek and won the game in OT. A crushing defeat for the Czech's, who i thought had the game in bag.

It will be tough for Canada tonight, but as long as they stay disciplined and play like they did for the first few games of the tournaments, they can beat the Russians tonight without a doubt. After a 5 point game by Jonathan Huberdeau, he has been rather silent, and he is going to have to step it up tonight, along with linemates Ryan Strome and Mark Stone. It was announced Wedgewood would be between the pipes tonight, but i think its the wrong choice. I would think that Visentin would come in against Russia, and get revenge on them for the gold medal game last year. But Wedgewood has been the better tender, and deserves to be there. Tough call.

Prediction - 4-3 Canada.

As for the Leafs, not much to say here. They need to win this won to keep up with the other teams. Hopefully they can pull one out tonight against a hot Lightning team. Period.

Prediction - 3-2 Lightning - Shootout
