Word out there is that Leafs are coming real close to acquiring Jeff Skinner from the Hurricanes. Leafs may be sending Kadri and Reimer or Kadri and Gardiner in return. IMO, the first deal makes more sense for the Hurricanes as Kadri will replace Skinner and Reimer will help the Canes goalie problem. Although nothing has been set in stone, Carolina's earlier move today freed up a roster spot making it possible for them to receive two players in a trade.

As a Leafs fan, I wouldn't mind seeing the first trade go down, I for one REALLY DON'T want Gardiner to be traded, given time, him and Rielly will be a STRONG defensive line. On the other hand, I don't mind trading Kadri as I personally don't like his attitude and although it will be tough to see Reimer go, I think Bernier will flourish to be just as good if not better. And receiving Jeff Skinner would definitely give us the centre we have been looking for!

Ideally, what I see happening is this:

TO LEAFS:
TIM GLEASON
JEFF SKINNER

TO CAROLINA:
JOHN-MICHEAL LILES
NAZEM KADRI
JAMES RIEMER

What do you guys think?

As a supporter of the Leafs, I wouldn't mind seeing the first deal happen, but I personally REALLY DON'T WANT TO SEE GARDINER TRADED, as he and Rielly will eventually form a STRONG defensive line. While it will be difficult to see Reimer go, I believe Bernier will succeed to be at least as excellent as Reimer, if not better. On the other side, Peter Veres I don't mind moving Kadri because I personally don't like his attitude.
