other trade rumors I found for today...

Canucks are a big-time player in trade talks for the likes of Brad Richards, Olli Jokinen, but don't like richards salary or minus 25 on the year.

Tanguay, rumored to be headed to Montreal for Michael Ryder, Tanguay also has a no-trade clause and it's been recently reported that he would be willing to accept a trade to Montreal

Bryan McCabe, who likely would waive his no-trade clause only to return to the Islanders. But it won't happen unless interim general manager Cliff Fletcher includes the Maple Leafs' first-round pick as part of any deal. - just to clear up that debate on the EK thread....

McKee to the Devils for a low draft pick or suspect/prospect to take on McKee's $4 million salary...

Jackman will cost at least a first-rounder, a star prospect and a valuable veteran

The Rangers will bolster their defense by acquiring a veteran stay-at-home type rather than make a big splash with a blockbuster deal. Boyle would fit and the word is that they don't just want him as a rental. With 31 million already committed to next year and Boyle asking for at least 6 million I don't think he could be anything more then a rental.

Jagr isn't going anywhere, they need him and won't get much back in return. Plus he is playing well with his new line mates.

As reported in yesterday's Post 2-24-08 (sorry EK this is yesterdays news), the Rangers are keenly interested in winger Rob Schremp, Hugh Jessiman, the 12th overall selection in 2003 who has made considerable progress this season and is currently projected to compete for a spot on next season's Rangers' roster.Lowe, however, is believed to be asking for much more than Jessiman.

Schremp has some pro's and con's;
Pros - Great hands, knack for scoring, not selfish on the ice, fast.
Cons - lack of defensive skills in his own zone, head case, doesn't listen to his coaches very well.

Foote is believed to seeking a two-year contract between $3 million and $4 million per season

Hossa
Canadiens will be neck in neck with the Ottawa Senators for Hossa's services. But I believe Boston may have something to say, Chara and Hossa are good friends and Boston has a lot of young talent to give up. This would have to be a sign and trade deal in order for Boston to get Hossa.

Canucks forward Matt Cooke's name continues to pop up in trade rumors maybe part of the Richards deal ?

The Wings have been linked to showing interest in Atlanta's Marian Hossa and Bobby Holik, Tampa Bay's Vaclav Prospal and Columbus' Sergei Fedorov. ( I believe they will make a move for one of these guys)

Lapointe to the stars - he has been a healthy scratch past 3 games and Stars are believed to have offered him a deal for a contract extension. Other teams involved in Lapointe are Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators.

Comrie offered a extension, if he rejects the offer he will be moved.

That is all... enjoy !
