Islanders' give thanks

Save for the drubbing against the Hurricanes, DiPietro has kepted his head in the game, and most importantly his butt in the net.

Tonight is sure to bring on a heart stopping match up of the east's most prolific Power Play Team(MON 11-6-3 25pts) and the Team(NYI 11-6-0 22pts) with the 2nd best penalty killing in the east. Lets examine some numbers for the game.

So far in 17 games(fewest in the league) the Islanders of New York have been short handed 73 times and have allowed a total of 10 Goals.

While the Habs have skated in 20 contests and have been on the Advantage 96 times, and have scored 28 goals For a alarming 29.2 percent. But have only scored 34 goals even strengthed. So we are figuring about half of their goals(and presumably their wins) are coming with great THANKS to the power play. The Islanders are averaging about 4.5 times short handed a game, and allowing only 1 goal every 8 or so chances. If they can stay out of the penalty box, I can eat turkey tomorrow with out rolaid chasers. Otherwise its curtains for the Hilary Duff Dynamo's.
