Will it really make this years team any different than last years? Just because he got paid does that mean he won't give up 3 goal leads to Boston and Philly again?I know its not all him and the D-men were pretty bad but I can't help but wonder what difference will this make.
I love the signing and it should show the rest of the club were not rolling over and dying just yet but we need more to get around the corner and back on the right track!

The signing of Miller shows Sabres fans and the NHL that the management is keeping its word. They are going with the talent they have brought up through a system they believe in to build a cohesive - and I think - juggernaut that will make last year's team a distant memory. Remember, last year's team was demoralized by the lose of Biere and Drury and the insecurity of short-term contracts. Miller was overworked and repeatedly expected to make miracle saves because there was often no defense to assist him.Frankly, I don't see any other goalies out there that I would rather have on the team. They all make mistakes and they all allow goals. No sport is more of team effort than hockey. It takes outstanding dedication, concentration, talent and coordination to consistently win. And in the playoffs, it is the team with most talent and experience that wins the Stanley Cup. And, ya, you do need some luck.Don't forget about the Sabres secrete weapon, Lindy Ruff. There is currently no better coach in the NHL today. He not only makes the most of the talent that he has, he gets them to play beyond their abilities.

You should be better simply from the maturation of your quality youth.

i dont know about lindy ruff being the best coach in the league...if he was, i think you all would have made the playoffs last year. not trying to knock him, he is definitely a hell of a coach, but not the best in the league.

Last year was a blip in the process, losing Drury and Briere and the Campbell issue and Miller also had some personal issues last year. His cousin died and he was very close to him. Now this young team will have focus, so don't be so quick to dismiss him or them. I think they are one or two players away from being a top 5 team again and i don't mean high priced free agents. One D-man and possibly one center, unless one of the kids shines early in the season
