Who's Going In T.O?

Posted Saturday | Comments 0
As of late the play of Mikhail Grabovski has brought some attention to whether throw him on the trade block or extend him. Either would can bring good value. Another two guys they could put in the mix is Cody Franson and Luke Schenn. Talented young defenders that could bring a nice top six forward to the club. In all honestly though I doubt they will move Grabo at the dead...

July 26 Nonis and Maple Leafs getting into defensive trouble? After the signings of Tyler Bozak (5 years, $21 million) and David Clarkson (7 years, $36.75 million), and the trade for another hot shot young goaltender in Jonathan Bernier, I thought the Maple Leafs were well on their way to becoming a legit Stanley Cup contender over the n...

Should Avs trade for Franson?

Posted Saturday | Comments 0
As per Darren Dreger, RFA Cody Franson of the Maple Leafs is asking for more money than Toronto can pay, considering their cap situation. Having just above 6 million with Nazem Kadri and Mark Fraser also needing to re-sign, both RFAs, and would then need one more player to have 23 on the roster. Dreger reported the Leafs would be looking for a pick and a prospect for Fr...
And so it begins. The predictions on who will be suiting up for the Toronto Maple Leafs on opening night in Montreal against the Habs. I know there are going to be quite a few of these articles being posted across the internet over the course of the next month so I figured I would get the jump on some of the other bloggers in the world and make my thoughts known before cam...
Coming into the league, Cody Franson was never the best skater, he was really never the best defender, but one thing was certain with Franson, he had a very electric and accurate shot. Whether it was a slapshot from the slot, or a snapping wrist shot from the blueline, Franson's accuracy with his shot is nearly unmatched. In junior, Franson—who played with the Vanc...

Leafs RFA Problems

Posted Tuesday | Comments 0
Follow me on Twitter @jcimms9 September has arrived and we are but days away from training camps beginning to open and unless things change fast there will be two very noticeable faces missing for the Leafs. RFA's Cody Franson and Nazem Kadri have yet to ink a deal with the blue and white after coming off both players most impressive season performances to date. ...
January 7 After an improbable victory (in a shootout mind you folks!) in the Winter Classic, things continue to get worse for a team who is extremely fragile minded. This is everyone's fault, from the ice, to the bench and to the press box. It has been a while since I have written anything. Been on vacation while on winter break from teaching. I enjoyed the Sm...
January 18th Lots to write about following a (near) perfect week for the Toronto Maple Leafs (their AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies) and the Los Angeles Kings... I was planning on writing up my recap from last night's Chicago Wolves-Toronto Marlies game, but when I returned home, I instantly crashed as my body hit the bed. It had been a very long, tiresome week ...
More Maple Leafs follies as the 2014-15 season gets off and running here in October! Plenty of new faces, still the same problems... However, let me start with some of the good: The team did make several smart moves in the off-season to strengthen the bottom six. Adding veterans like Mike Santorelli, Daniel Winnik and David Booth (although injured again) brought in a...
The Nashville Predators are hands down the NHL’s best team this season. Expecting to make a deep playoff run, the Predators decided to be buyers on the trade market. The Predators acquired two of their former draftees from the Toronto Maple Leafs, Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli. Franson was selected in the 3rd round by Nashville in 2005 and Santorelli in the 6th round ...
