Trade deadline was flatline in Big D. Broke people can only window shop or hit the thrift store. A team who has no chips can come to the table to play. The All Star Break can't come soon enough for Marty Turco. The Stars have had to ride Turco too much because of a slow start and a lack of confidence in backup netminder Tobias Stephan. to make matters worse having no AHL team to allow Stephan to get regular work compounds the problem. The third kink ( a hat trick of a problem) is they have no cap room to acquire a veteran back up to spell Turco....

The Dallas Stars beat the Kings in a shootout 3-2. Dallas out shot the Kings, however Erik Ersberg stood tall stopping many good chances in the first two periods. Dustin Brown put the Kings up 1-0 in the third . Jere Lehtinen tied slicing through the defense . Mike Riebero put the Stars ahead 2-1. As the circus get's ready to complete it's first week in Big D, the Stars were able to mix in a hockey game between Avery circus . Marty Turco posted the win stopping 27 shots; outdueling Peter Budaj. Not missed in all the saves was Marek Svatos he was all over the ice creating plenty of scoring chances. Scoring with 55 seconds left on a sweet pass from Paul Stastny to tie the game and ruin Turco'...

The old saying the squeeky wheels gets the grease( oilers in this case). The home team prevailed 4-3 against an Edmonton team who spotted Dallas two goals before twice tying the game. This has been the Stars problem all season can not hold a lead. Like crazed holiday shoppers they sprint to score but forget to defend. They have yet to produce a solid 60 minute game.
