Penguins Cup Contenders?

Is it possible that with out the likes of Crosby and Geno that the Pens are serious contenders for the Cup? With the acquisition of Neal and Niskanen they are looking better then they have since Sid went down with his Concussion. Shero needs to add at least one more scoring winger the likes of Kovalev or Hemsky would be nice... But whatever Shero does at this point it will be for just a rental player... The Eastern Conference is becoming a lot tighter than it appears according to the standings... Boston making a splash with a big trade and Phily making a big trade those two teams seem to be pulling away... the rest of the East is seeming to be a lot closer than perceived. So realistically if the Penguins can muster up one more big trade i would see no reason why they can not be considered a top contender... and if Sid does come back this season... well we all know what is capable then.
