"Pucking Around With Peter"

So, it's been almost a week and I still can't wrap my mind around it.

And I'm not referring to Jaimie getting voted off of "So You Think You Can Dance." Even though that was an absolute outrage.

I am talking about "The Zany Bachelor Party Misadventures of Those Impish Staal Brothers."

Now, of course, in the grand scheme of things, this is but a blip on the sports radar in comparison to Mike Vick (allegedly) trying to put the "cute" back in "electrocute" with some dogs.

And it pails in comparison to the general jackassery that is Tim Donaghy.

But, fellas, come on.

There are bad ideas and then there are BAD ideas.

Obviously bad ideas come in varying degrees.

Small ones:

"A period piece starring Kevin Costner... That should be action packed. I'm renting it!"

Medium ones:

"I mean, the outfit doesn't really make you look SKINNY by any means."

Big ones:

"Granted she's CRAZY, but I am sure that passion will only show up in the boudoir and never spill over into day to day life

Trust me, you don't make THAT mistake... more than three or four times.

The Staal boys are hockey stars. Canadian hockey stars. Their family home is still in Canada. So, they decide to throw a wild party... south of the border.

Jordan is eight teen years old. Legal drinking age in Canada is nineteen. (Eighteen in Quebec!) So, you go someplace where legal age is twenty one?

Who made that call ? The Bush Whitehouse?

You think the Staals would have been arrested in Canada for the same activities? No chance. Didn't Joe Thornton punch a cop a couple of summers ago? Did anyone other than the cop even notice?

A hockey player could sodomize a police horse up here and get a warning. Not that I would recommend that. Despite what grainy internet videos will have you believe, it's not for everyone.

In conclusion, boys, next time just party north of the border.

And now, because I am not happy with how this blog post turned out, I am going to go out and harass people driving by.

Well with the Thornton thing there was some media attention to it, but that was before Thornton really took off in the NHL. But I see your point, the Staal's are human. It was just boys being boys, nothing more
