As last nights game vs the wild came to an end I sat there at rexall place pondering some questions!!!!!! Let's go back to the Nashville game.
In a 1-1 game were Khabby is playing another great game and the oil are hanging in there in a tight game versus the always frustrating preds,Sam gagner is up against the boards and sends a pass to the middle of the ice and is picked off and leads to the winning goal with just over 7 minutes left in the 3rd. So what happen the following day,Sam gets a promotion to the 2nd line hmmmmm!
Last night versus the wild Shawn horcoff played 25:00 minutes! yes 25!!! I'll be the 1st to admit that horc has been really good this season and has been a solid player offensively and on the defensive side but i'm sorry he's not Malkin,Crosby or Ovie to be playing that much no matter what the situation.
Horcoff was 8-14 in the faceoff circle before that crucial PK in OT, he then goes 0 for 3 on the pk when there's a stoppage in play. So were thinking put belanger out there isnt that the reason we brought him in,to win faceoffs,but renney instead going on hunch puts horc back out there and loses another faceoff putting him at 8-18 on the night,while belanger won 11 of his 17 FO.
As for the shootout Eberle and Horcoff should shot in your top 3 all the time!period!
It just seems to be certain players can't do any wrong while others do all wrong.
I'm not trying to act like I know more than Renney or any coach for that matter but you have to question some of his decisions at times, that's all I am saying.....
