Why not try and dump Ceci and sign Gardiner to 1 year.

Hello all, first time writer here and big time leaf fan! Given the leafs current cap crunch and the never ending Mitch Marner saga, i found it odd the leafs signed Ceci instead of attempting to walking away through arbitration and spend that 4.5M elsewhere? I get Gardiner can make HUGE head scratching blunders but he’s consistently titling the ice in the right direction and I’d much rather him over Ceci as a stopgap solution. Your thoughts? thanks for reading!
