Has Edmonton Improved over the summer

One Oiler question is, are they ready. In the 2005-2006 season oiler fans were on the edge of their seats in the stanley cup finals, The next year they placed a deadly 12 conference standing and a 25 overall league standing. Sure lowe landed Souray,Pitkanen,Sanderson,and Penner but the question is are they ready to commit to the oil.

Pitkanen only signed a one-year deal... I wonder if that's any indication or if Lowe just wanted to get a quick deal done and negotiate during the season?
