The Coyotes didn't play their best against the Wild, but they didn't play their worst either. They still need to play a full 60 minutes. They came out strong in the 1st and 2nd periods but lost it somehow in the 3rd. My hockey friends and I were late getting to the game, and missed the Joker's first goal. According to the Hockey Friends who did make it in time for the puck drop, Olli Jokinen scored a nice power play goal in the first. Not long into the second, he scored a short-handed goal. If it hadn't been for the hosers behind us saying "OH Jokinen's gonna get a hat trick tonight!" He probably would have... amateurs :D

The Wild managed to stay one step ahead of us last night, we played good; they played better. The Coyotes seemed to lose their momentum in the 3rd period and couldn't bury one to tie it up after Eric Belanger scored the game winning goal halfway through the 3rd. But enough about losing, on to some thoughts...
<br />
* *Olli Jokinen AKA "The Joker"*: *He makes goalies wet their pants.* I love him!!! Love, love, love him! My favorite is when he gets posession of the puck and takes off toward the net leaving everyone behind in a cloud of dust. Then its just him and his opponent's goalie... who has by then wet his pants. :D You just have to sit back and watch in awe. The guy is so quick and so precise. I love it. I'm getting closer and closer to purchasing a Jokinen sweater with each game I watch... best move we made this summer was bringing OlliCoyote to the desert.
<br />
* *Our Delightful Defense*: When you have to yell obsenities at your OWN D-Men, then you know that you have a problem. I won't name any names (cough-Jovanovski-cough) but the 2nd Wild goal was their fault. Bryz played fantastic but he can't do it all by himself. I say "BRING BACK YANDLE!" He was yet again a healthy scratch last night. OK so... Yandle isn't the key to our defense "situation" but he's also not the one causing it. I'm just sayin'...
<br />
* *Scoring*: Viktor Tikhonov has yet to score his first NHL goal and you can tell he's hungry for it. He came close last night, Boedker set him up beautifully twice but he wasn't able to bury it in the net. It's coming Tiki... don't worry! My boy *Carcillo* has yet to score a goal this season also. He's taking some time to get into the groove, but he'll get there.
<br />
*Major props go out to my Hockey Friend Kit who showed up at the game last night with a *"Go Coyotes, beat those Christmas Elves!"* sign. I laughed so hard I almost cried. I could've sworn I saw bells on the tops of their helmets...
<br />
And now we head back to Calgary Tuesday night to bend over and... ugh... I meant... to gloriously defeat them on their own ice! Oh, and Minnesota: Not nice of you to scratch my Craig Weller... I was looking forward to seeing him again last night

What do you think of Lisin's potential? Phoenix is in NY to play the Rangers tonight so I will get a good look at him.
