I have been reading reports coming from all over Twitter reporting the Flames interest in Matt Read from the Flyers. I will talk about one specifically from a guy named Dustin Leed (@D_Leed) He's a journalist for LancasterOnline as well as TheHockeyGuys and apparantly has some connections to the Flyers organization.
He has been reporting that the Flames and Flyers may possibly swap picks in a package deal for Matt Read (who is from Calgary), this would give the Flyers the 6th overall pick and the Flames the 11th overall pick. Matt Read apparantly is very well liked by Calgary's Assistant GM John Weisbrod and he has been trying to aquire him for awhile with the teams he's worked with. The 26 year old Read could fit in well with the Flames rebuild. There will be additional pieces to this deal but I will not bother to throw out names.
Now this could change who the Oilers would have available at 7th. If this were to happen, I could see the Flyers taking a D man at 6th, probably Nurse or Ristolainen which would leave Monahan for the Oilers at 7th.
Remember though, with the draft so close, there is a ton of rumours floating around so take the Leed comments with a grain of salt.
So now, just for the hell of it I'm going to post who I think will go in the top 7:
1st: MacKinnon 2nd: Jones 3rd: Drouin 4th: Barkov 5th: Lindholm 6th: Monahan 7th: Nichushkin
