Good Bye Simon Gagne

Posted 3:55 PM ET | Comments 4
When I was about 15, My mom let me cut school. My birthday is on December 20th, and so she let me cut school a day before x-mas break to do my x-mas shopping. After getting gifts for everyone (my brother got socks, Muaha!) We went into Models to get some more hockey sticks. While there, I saw it....

Number 12- Simon Gagne

A jersey, sitting on a rack right in front of the door. My mom saw me look at it, she made me try it on, and I wore that jersey everywhere.

But now, in this salary cap day and age, The player who I loved through think and thin, is heading to Tampa. While I can understand why, It feels like I lost a friend today. I never talked with Simon, obviously, nor would I want to. I don't need to know him personally, I got enough of his personality from his game.

So, my first blog goes to you, Mr. Gagne. Thank you for the great years, and I hope your only on a years vacation from Philadelphia Hockey.

Bad move unless you get that goalie you really need. As a Penguin fan Gagne was a rarity, a player on the Flyers I actually liked.
