The Edmonton Oilers mad a solid depth move last night by acquiring Centre Colin Fraser from the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks for a 6th round pick, 151 Overall. Fraser, who played junior hockey with Brent Sutter’s Red Deer Rebels, was the Hawks’ fourth-line centre much of this past season. In 70 Game he had 7 Goals and 12 Assist for 19 Points with a plus 6 and was 48.8% in the face-off circle. He was also great on the PK.

I think this is a Great Move for the Oilers because they were bad on the PK and face-offs plus he adds a little scoring as wellThe only question is who’s job is he taking, Maybe Cogliano’s or Pouliots’s, who are both going to be RFA’s this season.

His Scouting report: Is Aggressive and tenacious on the forecheck. Can play defensive role and provide energy. Displays a projectable frame and some offensive upside. He takes too many bad penalties.

I am glad to heard that he play good defensively and can maybe had good energy to him and the rest of the team. With the Hawks having to move bodies to stay under the salary cap. I think the Oilers have capitalize to get a player that if the Oilers sign with help them now and down the road. Great Move Oilers and keep up the Great work!!!
