I thought this one one would be a great for Hockeybuzz...I was reading nj.com and saw this post by a fellow devils fan..mmmmmm.....I for one dont believe it..but i thought id share...

This may soound strange, but I think this is a set-up between Lou and Gary. I think they are setting the stage for the next work stoppage. The NHL saw this coming in the last CBA negotiations and tried to fight it. Lou was trying to fight it. We may lose the arbitration, and then Kovy gets a different deal (15 years? ala Hossa), and the line is drawn in the sand for the next huge contract like this. We may win, and Lou/Gary get to highlight this major loophole in the CBA for next time. Either way, I think we will still sign Kovalchuk. It just seems to strange that Lou knew this would happen, and even expected it. It just seems to serve a dual pupose for him either way.
