With all the buzz about Brian Rolston being traded, in a way its sad...I was actually a bit hyped up when he came back to New Jersey. He was getting 30+ goals a season in Minnesota, came back to NJ, got hurt and managed 20 goals last year due to a generous Ilya Kovalchuk & a empty net(think about it)..It wouldnt be so ...bad if he was scoring like he was supposed to, and can..If I was him I'd ask to be traded..
Where do you get this information? What team would be dumb enough to take on a $5 million contract for a guy who's 38? I think it's safe to say that with the way free agency has gone this offseason it's a safe bet you'll see Rolston as a Devil this season.
Boathout- I was wondering the same thing. Where do you get your information? I am sorry to say this but you're becoming very misleading.
Trading rolston would be the best possible thing for both the devils and rolston. With parise and kovalchuk, he is already a third line player, and with kovy, he isn't needed as much on the power play. if he is traded he could easily be second line, mabye first, and be very valuable on the powerplay. For the devils side...getting rid of a 5 million dollar contract would be great...it would give them more than enough room
but obviously because of his age, rolston will be hard to trade...but mabye not to the oilers who need any good players they can get, and some leadership
You suck the oilers arent retards they are trying to stay young we dont a 5 mill 38 year old forward when we can keep our 34 year old 5.4 mill d man who scores more goals GOD.
I don't disagree that it would be fantastic for the Devils to trade Rolston, I'm just saying it's not plausible. I don't think there's a team out there, with cash tight on every team, that is willing to take Rolston's cap hit when he suffers injuries and his production hasn't been there since leaving the Wild. Not at the money he costs.
i would trade zubrus
