Question for West Coast residents: What is Cup Finals gameday like for Ducks fans when the game starts at 5:00pm? I'm just curious because here in Buffalo if a game started at 5:00pm our city (and many of the surrounding suburbs) would completely shut down approximately 36 hours in advance and there would be about as many people at work that day as there is on Christmas Day. Hell, there were 10's of thousands of fans
OUTSIDE the arena here during the ECF games vs. Ottawa. I'd fear an armageddon-like situation if the Sabres were still a part of this.
So Ducks fans on the west coast, let me know what things will be like out there so we can live vicariously through you next week.
This is great...I was in Montreal Last year during the Stanley Cup Finals and the city was in a different mood, just because of a Canadian team (Oilers) in the finals...I really enjoyed it...I hope that the ppl in CA will be the same as you described your fans in Buffalo. To be honest it should be like this in every city that has a hockey team, and that is "Let's just shut it all down 36 hrs before and 36 hrs after."
Well, those going to the game will take the afternoon off, not much choice. Otherwise, I am afraid this city barely notices when the Lakers, Dodgers, or Angels win -- and the Ducks are striving to even get to that level. It's not a sports town, sadly.
