Looking forward to the game tonight against NJ in beautiful Tampa, Florida.
There was the possibility of Ryan Malone coming back for tonight's game. Coach Boucher says he would have played vs Pittsburgh had it been the playoffs.
There is also the chance of a call up, although it doesn't look like it's happening for tonights game. Tyrell, the most likely player to make the move, leaving top prospect, Carter Ashton down in the AHL.
It seems inevitable now, (thank you Philadelphia!) that a game like tonight's involves a lot of talk about the trap, since NJ has had the reputation for a long time, and Tampa just 'earned' it recently. I don't like it, and consider it way overblown in Tampa. You also get to see Kovalchuk, Elias, vs. Stamkos, St. Louis and Vinny.
Speaking of which, it seems there are ALWAYS rumors of trades, and specifically with Vinny Lecavalier. Eklund is reporting it's possibility, and I see him as a lot easier to move than he was a couple years ago. He is playing well and a leader in Tampa though, and he still has a contract that makes it difficult without getting something similar back. In a way, the Luongo idea makes more sense than anything else, but it's still a little hard to imagine at this point. We'll keep an eye on it.
