Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted 6:06 PM ET | Comments 0
Today is a good day to reflect and realize all that we have to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

That said, is it really necessary to not play hockey on American Thanksgiving? They play NFL football, and it's a day they don't usually play on Thursdays like the NHL does. At the very least you'd think they could play games in Canada, where thanksgiving has come and gone in October (7 games that night, all played in the US, but Calgary and Vancouver both played).

I guess we just have to eat turkey and countdown the hours and minutes until the Bolts take on the Florida "Free Agent City" Panthers, lead by newcomers Versteeg, Kopecky, Fleischmann, Campbell, Jovanovski, Theodore, and former Lightning and star of last years playoffs, Sean Bergenheim (talk about a turn over in Miami..). The only thing more surprising than the number of signings this past off-season, is the meteoric rise in the standings, which has them sitting one point behind Pittsburgh for the top spot in the east. The battle of Florida is actually something to look forward to, despite those ugly jerseys they wear in Miami.
