The NHL awards show has been pushed back from 7:30 to 11pm EST in the United States on Versus and for what, not bull riding, not horse racing, but this time World Combat League Fighting. NHL.com has had it on there website all week that the awards show will be on Versus at 7:30 PM for all to enjoy, and again we get screwed by at network that the NHL leads us to beleive they are the top dog. The NHL is the only one of the 4 major sports that even shows their award ceremony on TV because it is a special night and then fans deserve to see it. If versus wanted to put it on delay then just say so from the start. Dont let NHL.com have it as a start time of 7:30pm. This is just another slap in the face to the many NHL fans in the states that do enjoy the awards show. I just wish once the NHL would stick up for the fans in the States and go with a network that will work with them instead of what appears to be against the wishes of the fans. I would ask all fans in the States and Canada as well as all around the world to contact Versus if they so desire at 1-877-VERSUS-ON or email them at
. Be respectful in the email or on the phone and let them know how we feel as the fans of the NHL and we just do not appreciate be treated as if the sport does not matter.
The NHL needs to get away from Versus they would be better with a USA TV contract with CW at least reaches over 102 million households, sad thing is if this netwrok would even want the NHL.
Gotta wonder if a network can't cover an awards show, what will happen to a live game broadcast.
It was a disaster last night...I so was ready to watch some hockey related stuff on TV, and the network of Versus failed me...You are right, if we all contact them, they might do something about it...I'm sure if their rating starts going down they will have to do something about it...I was really hoping that the name change from OLN to VS would change this network a little, but that has not happened yet....Maybe NHL needs to step up this time, only if NHL had a better leader than the one that they have right now.
