Throughout the years there have been many things required to become a hockey player - stick, puck, ice, and the ability to speak in cliches. This is a skill that is taught at a very young age. Only with years of training and practice can a person truly master this art. This was clear today in a transcript of Thursday's media conference with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren. There were 17 questions asked of Mr. Holmgren and he supplied 55 cliches and catch phrases. Some were repeated, some are Flyer specific (especially after last season), and some are NHL classics. Whichever they are, they can be enjoyed by all. This is not meant to be demeaning, but simply intended to bring a smile to your face. Please view and laugh accordingly, here they are in order.

Appreciate the grin. (Maybe there is a book out there titled "Coaches' Guide to Press Conference Cliches, Catch Phrases, Buzzwords, Diversionary Utterances")
It cant be easy expalining going from 13 straight PO showings to the worst season in 40 years (your history) and doing it over and over agian. You have to feel bad for the guy, and happy with his agressive response to the situation.
LMAO nice one JZ. I can close my eyes and hear Homer/Clarkie utter every single one of those catch phrases in Flyer-ese. Nice Post! Keep it up! SYF
